Taking its name from the Japanese word for “gold coin”, KINKA Sushi Bar Izakaya is built on the values of quality and craftsmanship.
Part of the Jittlada Group, which has introduced authentic Asian dining to Indonesia for more than 27 years, the restaurant presents a contemporary interpretation of Japanese cuisine, where traditional techniques, seasonal ingredients and modern presentation come together under the direction of Chef Nobuya Shimamoto.
What to expect
At KINKA, the menu draws on premium ingredients sourced locally and from Japan, with each dish designed to showcase the natural qualities of every ingredient.
Seafood is a fitting place to begin. The 9 Kinds Sashimi brings together ootoro, chutoro, akami, kanpachi, shima aji, kinmedai, hirame, engawa and hotate in one beautifully presented platter. From the rich, buttery character of the tuna cuts to the delicate sweetness of hotate scallops, each variety offers something different, making it an ideal introduction to the restaurant’s seafood selection.
For something from the grill, the A5 Kagoshima Wagyu Sumiyaki Steak showcases beautifully marbled wagyu grilled to bring out its rich umami and melt-in-the-mouth tenderness. Another standout is the Black Cod Saikyo Zuke, where black cod is marinated in Kyoto’s prized Saikyo miso before being grilled until lightly caramelised, creating buttery flesh with gentle sweetness and subtle smokiness.
To round out the meal, the Hokkaido Oysters offer a taste of northern Japan. Served fresh, they’re prized for their plump, creamy texture and naturally sweet finish, allowing the quality of the oysters to speak for itself.
KINKA’s omakase experience
Diners looking for something more immersive can head to its Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) outlet, where the restaurant’s omakase is offered exclusively. Here, Chef Nobuya Shimamoto curates each course around seasonal ingredients and seafood air-flown directly from Japan, so every menu reflects the very best.
The experience is complemented by omotenashi – Japan’s philosophy of wholehearted hospitality – which places hospitality at the centre of every meal.
