Brunch guide: 10 of the best brunch places in Hong Kong

Here are 10 places to enjoy a meal with friends and loved ones that, with free-flowing drinks, can go on for hours

1. Alchemy

Set in the central area of the city, Alchemy restaurant and lounge is a place where guests can enjoy brunch in one of their cosy corners. With old books lining the walls (below), the venue takes diners on a culinary journey with their set menu which changes often but includes a good selection of seafood and meat dishes all-year round.

HK$288 (US$37.10 for the food package), HK$350 (bottomless Champagne). Saturdays and Sundays, 12.30pm-3.30pm. G/F, 16 Arbuthnot Rd, Central.

2. Clipper Lounge at Mandarin Oriental

You’ll be spoiled for choice at the Champagne brunch the Clipper Lounge serves up. Set inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel, the restaurant – furnished with mink, taupe and mandarin hues – has a menu that just seems to go on and on with noodles, cheeses, sushi, seafood (above), greens and baked goods, plus egg and carving stations to name just a few.

HK$378 (children’s package), HK$688 (bottomless Champagne package). Sundays, 11.30am-3pm. 5 Connaught Rd, Central.

3. Gaucho

The Argentine restaurant is famed around the world for its succulent steak cuts and animal print interior. Dishes on the menu go from granola and yoghurt to eggs florentine to oven baked chorizo sausage. End it on a sweet note by diving into a stack of blueberry pancakes drizzled in honey or chowing down on churros in dulce de leche dipping sauce.

HK$100 (children aged 4-12 package), HK$600 (bottomless cocktails and Champagne). Sundays, 11am-4pm. 5/F, LHT Tower, 31 Queen’s Rd, Central.

4. The Grill at The Grand Hyatt

For an al fresco brunch, The Grill at The Grand Hyatt serves up fresh seafood and salads, making a healthy alternative easy for conscious eaters. The setting is a poolside restaurant which overlooks the Victoria Harbour and those who go all out for the foodie experience can select from a menu of breakfast items, char-grilled dishes and tasty desserts.

HK$269 (children’s package), HK$538 (adult package). Additional HK$218 for bottomless beer, wine and sparkling wine cocktails. Saturdays and Sundays, 11.30am-3pm. 11/F, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, 1 Harbour Rd.

5. Armani/Aqua

Located in the Landmark, the Because Brunch at Armani/Aqua serves up unlimited starters such as antipasti and fresh sushi, then mains come in serving platters – think grilled salmon with truffled tartare sauce or roasted lamb with mashed potatoes. End the experience with a sweet selection which includes molten lava cake, panna cotta and tiramisu.

HK$448 (food package), additional HK$100 (soft drinks package), HK$598 (Champagne and cocktails package). 2/F, Landmark Chater (Chater House), 8 Connaught Rd, Central.

6. Zuma

The Japanese restaurant which has various branches around the world, serves up a classic buffet brunch on weekends including sushi and sashimi, as well as hot dishes made-to-order. Located at one of the most coveted spots in the city, Landmark, the venue offers informal izakaya-style dining in a sophisticated setting and will take care of the little ones in the kids’ playroom so adults can get stuck in.

HK$200 (children aged 4-10 package), HK$490 (soft drinks package), HK$650 (bottomless Champagne, sake and specially-crafted cocktails), HK$1,888 (bottomless Louis Roederer Cristal) in two-hour seated sessions. Saturdays and Sundays, 11am-3pm. Landmark, 5-6/F, 15 Queen’s Rd, Central.

7. Whisk

The semi-buffet brunch includes fresh oysters and lobster as well as barbecue meats and dishes made-to-order. There’s also an entire cheese and dessert room as part of the weekly occasion at Whisk, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, which can be enjoyed indoors or outside when the weather is just right. Set inside the Mira Hotel, you’ll be blown away by the modern decor which makes you feel as though you’re inside a Champagne glass.

HK$398 (children’s package), HK$638 (soft drinks package), additional HK$250 for bottomless cocktails and Moet & Chandon NV Champagne. Sundays, 12-3pm. Mira Hotel, 118 Nathan Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

8. Ozone

At one of the highest bars in the world, the Dom Perignon Brunch at the Ritz Carlton’s Ozone, from Chef Rafael Fernandes, greets guests with oysters and sushi, plus seafood and meat imported from New Zealand. Serving up a selection of Brazilian and international food, desserts are prepared by the in-house team of pastry chefs. The rooftop sky bar’s brunch is complemented by sounds of a house DJ, making it a great place for friends to gather around.

HK$590 (children’s package), HK$1,280 (Dom Perignon package), HK$2,180 (Dom Perignon Rose package). Sundays, 12pm-3pm. 118/F, International Commerce Centre, 1 Austin Rd West, Kowloon.

9. The Steakhouse Winebar + Grill

This restaurant is famous for serving up meat, fish and seafood – cooked on the city’s only charcoal grill – with a selection of 12 specially-blended mustards and eight rock salts to pair with the dishes. With a salad bar, selection of sides and desserts to complement, the semi-buffet brunch has an incredible 450 wines in its cellar.

HK$598 (children aged 3-6 package), HK$698 (without wine package), HK$898 (wine package). Sundays, 12pm-2.30pm. InterContinental Hong Kong, 18 Salisbury Rd, Kowloon.

10. Bread Street Kitchen and Bar

This all-day dining venue in Lan Kwai Fong is one of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s offerings under the same name around the globe. The a la carte Lazy Oaf brunch at Bread Street Kitchen and Bar offers a selection of egg dishes for breakfast and main courses for lunch, as well as sweets and starters in this warehouse-style setting.

Additional HK$188 for two hours of cocktails plus red, white and sparkling wine. LKF Hotel, 33 Wyndham St, Central.
