Singapore's Southern Ridges are a leisurely stroll westwards out of the city

1. 10KM

Total length of the Southern Ridges in Singapore, which passes though Mount Faber Park and Kent Ridge Park among other nature reserves. The trail’s key structure, Henderson Waves, stands 36m above street level.

New York's High Line adds a touch of greenery to the urban jungle

2. 350

Minimum number of species of perennials, grasses, shrubs, vines and trees that call New York’s High Line home. The park also houses 15 distinct planting zones and around 110,000 plants along its 2.33km walking path.

Number of years it took to complete construction on the Seawall in Vancouver. Part of the city’s Stanley Park, which is Vancouver’s first and largest urban park, the 28km pathway offers truly stunning views of downtown and beyond.

Total sections that comprise the 50km Hong Kong Trail, which includes the Dragon’s Back walk. The latter stretches from Wan Cham Shan to Shek O Peak via a pathway that calls to mind the shape of a dragon’s backbone.

The height, above street level, of Paris’ Promenade Plantée, an abandoned viaduct that was transformed into the city’s first elevated parkway in 1933. The linear structure spans 4.7km and even includes a shallow pool.
