You could spend an entire day at the V&A in the cultural district of South Kensington and still not see everything it has to offer. There are 145 galleries spread over seven floors and a whopping 60,000-plus objects on view – from paintings and sculptures to textiles and ceramics, some dating back 5,000 years. Headline attractions include the Cast Courts, which features a monumental plaster cast of Michelangelo’s David. Another must-see is “Tippoo’s Tiger”, a ferocious, life-sized automaton commissioned by Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore in South India.
