Kuala Lumpur was carved out of jungle, and in the city centre, there’s just one small patch of rainforest left – just roughly nine hectares of what used to be called the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, a short walk away from the city’s party district. There are a number of short trails that you can explore, or you can just enjoy the dissonance of watching concrete buildings rise out of forest trees by strolling the canopy walkway. Start from the entrance at Jalan Bukit Nanas and walk uphill, or make your way downwards from the KL Tower carpark.
