Its 47 dwellings, some over a century old, once housed tea farmers. Rebuilt with clay roofs, earth walls and stone pathways, this tranquil retreat offers bamboo forests, tea fields and morning chanting at your doorstep.
The 600m Fayun Path is a joy to tread before sunrise, where you’ll encounter villagers who still use this path today. This is da yin yu shi: great seclusion within the city, just 6km from West Lake.
