If Japan’s much-awaited reopening of borders to tourists hasn’t quite enticed you to book a trip yet, perhaps this news will. Pop music icon Katy Perry has been announced as a special guest for the 2022 True Colors Festival in Tokyo, which will run from 19-20 November 2022.

The festival, which celebrates diversity, inclusivity and the connective power of music, sees Katy Perry join a lineup of over 90 musicians, singers and dancers from 12 countries. Its theme for 2022 is “One World, One Family” and will conclude with a special performance by the award-winning songstress herself.

“What moved me to join True Colors Festival was the spirit and uniqueness of the festival’s message and the opportunity to share the stage with all these diverse artists. I’m excited to be back in Tokyo to perform at this inspiring event,” said Katy Perry.

International artists performing alongside Katy Perry at the True Colors Festival include We Are One from India, Canadian violinist Adrian Anantawan, bionic pop artist Viktoria Modesta from United Kingdom and Singaporean rapper Wheelsmith. The full lineup includes artists and groups from Australia, Italy and the United States.

The 2022 edition of the festival will be held at Tokyo Garden Theater with ticket prices starting at ¥3000 (SGD$29.33).
