Gateway to the famed Angkor Wat, Siem Reap is a popular destination for holidaymakers, and a stay at these Bill Bensley-approved digs will complete the trip

Designer Bill Bensley's signature is everywhere in the resort

1. Fantastical design aesthetic

When famed luxury resort designer Bill Bensley puts his signature touch to a project, you know you’re in for a treat. Expect stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, manicured gardens, plush rooftop living spaces and outsized lap pools. Drawing inspiration from Cambodia’s rich history, the walls of the villas are draped with a 3D carving that represents the flowing robes of Jayavarman, a revered 12th century Khmer king.

2. 10 exclusive villas offering exquisite comfort

With 29 years of experience under his belt, Bensley knows luxury. Each villa is accented with black, white and gold notes, and dotted with unique items from Bensley’s personal collection of art and antiques. But luxury doesn’t have to mean stuffy. Recognising the importance of a good night’s sleep, Bensley personally handpicked each bed and black-out drapes so you get to snooze in maximum comfort.

3. Personalised butler service

Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you’ll get to skip the queues at Immigration and are taken straight to your hotel via a tucked away entrance. There, you’ll be greeted by one of the Bensley Butlers, a group of hospitality professionals dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible. The friendly team will do their best to fulfil your wishes, whether that’s organising a sunset tour of the Angkor temples, or a romantic dinner atop your villa.

4. Exclusive use of facilities

Guests will be able to use all the facilities of Shinta Mani’s other Siem Reap properties – Shinta Mani Angkor and Shinta Mani Shack – located within walking distance. These include two pools, the Khmer-inspired restaurants Kroya and Baitong, the ultra-chic Bensley’s Bar, as well as the Shinta Mani Spa.

Rest well knowing your stay is giving back to the community

5. They’re all about giving back to the community

The Shinta Mani Foundation is a social enterprise, and empowering the local community continues to be at the forefront of what they do. Founded by a Cambodian businessman in 2004, the Shinta Mani School of Hospitality has equipped more than 245 students with hospitality skills, boosting their employability. On top of that, the Foundation also helps rural communities in areas of healthcare, education and setting up of small businesses. You, too, can make a difference with the myriad of volunteering and donorship opportunities available.
