Purchase mySQupgrade, use your KrisFlyer miles or top up the fare difference to enjoy perks such as priority check-in and boarding, a higher baggage allowance and more

With revenge travel now in full swing, there’s no time like the present to plan your big post-lockdown vacation. If you’re one of the eight in ten Singaporeans (according to a survey from Today Online) who plan to travel in 2023, you’ve probably already sorted out your tickets by now. And as your trip draws nearer, perhaps you’re also considering a cabin upgrade to truly celebrate the return of travel. Well, good news, we have tips on how to make this happen.

Purchasing a cabin upgrade with Singapore Airlines is a quick and simple process and you can also expect perks such as priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling, as well as an enhanced inflight dining experience. All of this will help ensure that you arrive at your destination feeling well-rested and ready for your adventure.

Whether you are aiming to upgrade to Premium Economy, Business or First Class on your Singapore Airlines flight, here are three easy ways to make it happen.

1. Purchase mySQupgrade

For a limited-time, you can purchase mySQupgrade at a special price within 72 hours of your flight. Through this programme, you’ll be able to instantly upgrade your seat from Economy to Premium Economy, Economy to Business, Premium Economy to Business or Business to First Class or Suites – all at affordable fixed prices!

The actual process of upgrading the flight with mySQupgrade is a breeze. If your ticket was purchased using a valid email address, you’ll receive a special upgrade offer within 72 hours of your flight, if eligible. It is also only through this email that you can purchase upgrades on connecting flights – provided that connections are within 24 hours of the first flight.

Alternatively, you can also access manage booking or use the search widget by entering your booking reference number and last name within 72 hours of your flight.

Eligibility: Passengers must not be travelling with an infant or a group of more than nine passengers in a single booking. Upgrades are not available for passengers under the pay-with-miles scheme or Flight Pass booking.

The mySQupgrade “Upgrade Now” screen.

2. Enjoy cabin upgrades with KrisFlyer miles

Looking to upgrade without spending a dime? Put your KrisFlyer miles to work and snag an instant upgrade for that much awaited (and well deserved) vacation. When upgrading with KrisFlyer miles, you’ll be eligible for an upgrade that’s one cabin class higher.

Eligibility: Passengers must not have booked a Lite or Value fare flight. Passengers may upgrade to one cabin class higher except from Economy Class to Business Class on flights with Premium Economy Class.

3. Top up the fare difference

If you want the freedom to upgrade to any available class, you can also opt to simply top up the fare difference. Unlike the previous two options, you’ll enjoy mileage accrual based on the upgraded cabin class. Like all upgrade options, confirmation is immediate if there is availability.

Eligibility: Passengers must not be booked on an Economy Lite or Value fare type. Passengers on multi-city bookings are also ineligible.

Note: Passengers who have made bookings through travel agencies can upgrade by contacting their travel agent

How to upgrade on SIA flights

Ready to upgrade? Simply check your eligibility and upgrade with instant confirmation by managing your booking on the Singapore Airlines website or mobile app. From there, you can purchase mySQupgrade (within 72 hours of departure), redeem miles for an upgrade reward or top up the fare difference – it’s that easy to take your inflight experience up a notch!
