You could spend an entire day wandering through The Met and its 5,000 years of art from around the world. For more than 150 years, the institution has housed defining collections of Renaissance and Impressionist art, Greek and Roman sculpture and, of course, Egyptian antiquities, including the intact Temple of Dendur, built around 15 BC. You’ll also find its world-famous fashion and costume collection on-site, while the museum’s second location at Manhattan’s northern tip, The Met Cloisters, features mediaeval art.
