But dining next to works from these titans (and under lighting fixtures designed by Giacometti) is only one reason why this restaurant in the heart of Bellevue has become a Zurich institution. Since it was opened in 1924, it’s been welcoming glitterati and literati such as Yves Saint Laurent and James Joyce.
The menu comprises seasonal specialties like saddle of venison with spaetzle (small dumplings typical of Central European cuisine) and other Swiss classics. There’s also a divine chestnut cream dessert that you should save room for.
