Madrid has no shortage of excellent markets, including tourist favourite Mercado de San Miguel and gourmet-oriented Mercado de Antón Martín.
None are quite like Mercado de la Cebada. Here, small businesses – ranging from print shops, record stores and fashion boutiques to stalls selling wine, books, custom-made shoes and more – rub shoulders with produce vendors.
The first Sunday of the month, the market hosts a flea market, too.
