Located in Mandarin Gallery, the all-day dining restaurant is founded by Brasserie Gavroche’s father-and-son restaurateurs, Frédéric and Jean Colin. Designed in striking reds and warm textured woods, the stylish 70-seater space evokes the traditional dining halls of the French capital.
The hallmark of a good bouillon is generous, everyday food; the simple Œufs Mimosa ($6), France’s elegant cousin to the deviled egg, is a menu staple, as is the Avocat Crevettes ($16) – shrimp cocktail with avocado.
Prices remain friendly for the mains, with nothing above $30. The comforting Parmentier de Canard ($22), a mashed-topped casserole of duck confit, makes a hearty meal, ideally paired with a glass of red. The Saumon Ratatouille ($24), featuring pan-seared salmon and vegetable stew, is fresh and vibrant.
For desserts, the oversized Profriterole ($10), filled with vanilla soft serve and drizzled with hot chocolate sauce, is a bona fide showstopper, but don’t miss the exquisitely made Tarte Fine aux Pommes ($8). Soul-warming French dining right in the heart of Orchard Road.
