Nothing better represents a Japanese craftsman’s single-minded dedication than kiriko (cut glass), and no kiriko is more sought-after than the handmade glassware of Edo Kiriko Hanashyo. Headed by the founder’s son, Hanashyo operates just two exclusive locations: its flagship store in Kameido and a new boutique in Nihonbashi. The kiriko process involves fusing coloured glass over transparent glass and carefully hand-etching designs onto the resulting product to create strikingly beautiful works of art.
