The Eisbach

A thrilling, unexpected activity in the middle of the city

Der Eisbach (c) U Lemmin-Woolfrey Silverkris Munich city guide

Surfing in a city? Possible in Munich, just steps from the old town. This 2km-long stream features an artificial wave and is considered one of the world’s best city surfing venues. The main area is located right after the bridge near the Haus der Kunst art museum. Recommended only for experienced surfers, it’s worth a visit if only to watch others ride the wave.
