PHÉNIX

Michelin-starred French dining with chef Steven Chen’s Franco-Chinese sensibility

Elegant interior of PHÉNIX at The PuLi Hotel and Spa in Shanghai, overlooking the greenery of Jing’an Park.

French elegance meets conviviality at PHÉNIX. Now nine years into its Michelin-starred run, this sleek Jing’an dining room remains a refined fixture on the city’s dining scene, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the leafy canopy of Jing’an Park.

Executive chef Steven Chen brings a Franco-Chinese sensibility to the kitchen, balancing both influences without straining for novelty. Through restrained techniques and a meticulous approach to flavour, Chen allows the quality of the ingredients to take centre stage. The set menu offers diners the flexibility to compose their own experience, whether for a leisurely lunch or an intimate dinner.

Meanwhile, the adjoining wine lounge houses some 250 labels, including fine vintages from renowned French châteaux.
