Hiking trails

While it’s easy to assume that Hong Kong is all skyscrapers and neon, its 261 islands offer a completely different side. Many are best appreciated via the countless miles of hiking trails, which range from simple strolls perfect for families to seriously tough climbs demanding peak fitness. These trails showcase the diverse landscapes, cultures and critters of the SAR, from monkeys to wild boars; you can sometimes even forget you’re in one of the world’s most densely populated cities.
