K Bowling Club things to do after dark Singapore

After sunset, Singapore has plenty to offer night owls in search of good food, live performances and – for the more active – a bungee ride or 10-pin bowling

1. Enjoy live music

There’s no better way to end the night than by admiring the scenic Singapore River from the picturesque Timbre X S.E.A. while listening to live tunes by local talents. Located in the heritage district and housed in a beautifully restored historical building that used to host political meetings and esteemed guests, it’s a perfect location to kick back with a tipple as you help yourself to an array of dishes that are a unique take on modern South-east Asian cuisine. Try the Rillette of Beef Rendang on Rosti or Har Cheong Chicken Tortilla and wash that down with the cheeky Kopi-O Fashion made with Nanyang cold brew and Blacktears Spiced Rum.
Open till: 11pm daily, closed on Sundays

2. Cosmic bowling

Is it a club or a bowling alley? The line is blurred at K Bowling Club, where disco lights and thumping dance music greet visitors at nightfall. Grab a drink from their impressive selection of cocktails and immerse yourself in the rowdy atmosphere. Combining state-of-the-art sound systems with UV lights and laser beams, cosmic bowling is sure to get your heart racing. They also have karaoke booths and arcade machines if bowling is not your cup of tea.
Open till: 3am daily

3. Channel your inner golfer

Perfect for Singapore night-owls who enjoy casual sports and a good time, Holey Moley is a mini golf course slash full service bar that is a multi-sensory labyrinth that will test your agility and senses. Sip from its array of cocktails at the sidelines or get competitive and gather your friends to putt into intriguing golf holes which include popular culture references such as the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones.
Open till: 11pm every night

4. Indulge in sweet treats

Over in Holland Village, 2am:dessertbar delivers on its name; serving sweet treats until 2am. The brainchild of celebrated chef Janice Wong, the bar’s interior is sleek and minimalist, but its desserts are out of this world. The Cassis Plum (above) may look innocent, but this blushing confection hides a potent shot of umeshu (plum liqueur), while a flourless dark chocolate cake has a salted caramel surprise within. When one treat isn’t enough, treat yourself to the extensive menu ranging from confectionaries to savoury snacks.
Open till: 2am, closed on Mondays

5. Grab some late night Korean fried chicken

If the late night cravings for Korean fried chicken get distracting, Kko Kko Na Ra is the place to go to get that authentic Korean flavour. Try the bestsellers, the yang yum (sweet and spicy) for a mild and tangy aftertaste, and the cheese sprinkle, where crispy chicken pieces are covered in a heap of cheese dust. The Tanjong Pagar restaurant is wedged between shophouses but it’s hard to miss with how boldly it stands out.
Open till: 12am daily, closed on Mondays

6. Wander the Canopy Park

The Canopy Park at Jewel Changi Airport is an oasis away from the topical heat. Located at the top floor, a 14,000 sqm recreational attraction awaits visitors, from mazes and bouncing nets to creative garden trails and giant slides. It’s a playground for all ages, so don’t hesitate to take a leisurely stroll admiring creative displays of seasonal flowers or chase swirls of mist at its Foggy Bowls. After that, don’t forget to dine in one of the many restaurants located nearby.
Open till: 11pm on Fridays to Sundays, 10pm from Mondays to Thursdays

7. Roll under the disco lights

Go back to the ’80s at indoor skating rink Hi-Roller, located in the east of Singapore. Soak in the nostalgic roller rink ambience under the snazzy disco lights as you live out your roller derby dreams. Not familiar with skating? You can take classes at its academy that range from introductory for newbies to elite for the proficient. You can bring your own helmets, guards and skates or rent from there. With a fun atmosphere and a cushioned floor, it’ll set jittery beginners at ease and provide for a fun weekend date.
Open till: 9pm daily

8. Let your courage do the talking

Fancy being strapped into a metal cage and flung 60m into the sky? At G-Max, the reverse bungee ride hits speeds of up to 100kph and 5Gs. There’s also an Extreme Swing, which begins by lifting participants backwards, 50m into the air, before hurtling towards the ground at over 120kph. Set in the Clarke Quay nightlife district – thrills aside – the rides offer spectacular views along the Singapore River. G-Max is currently temporarily closed due to pandemic restrictions so check its website for updates.

9. Test your observational skills

Challenge your investigative skills at Xcape Singapore, an indoor escape game where a myriad of movie-themed rooms await. A warren of chambers are packed with puzzles, which have visual and verbal hints to help you figure out how to break free from fictional places. These include a zombie-infested train and the magical prison of Azkaban. Some rooms include a planted actor to up the scares. Check out the terrifying horror-themed rooms such as Annabelle and The Morgue, if you dare.
Open till: 11pm daily, 1am on Fridays and Saturdays
