With eight million members and counting, Ascott Star Rewards is expanding beyond hotel perks, with new ways to turn stays into KrisFlyer miles, flight credits, travel experiences and complimentary nights
Your hotel loyalty points could soon take you further than your next check-in.
Ascott Star Rewards (ASR) has rolled out a raft of new benefits after crossing the eight-million-member mark, giving travellers more ways to use their points on everything from flights to football matches.
The programme, which covers Ascott brands including Citadines, lyf, Oakwood, Somerset and The Crest Collection, is also celebrating its seventh anniversary.
The bigger news for members, though, is how much more they can now do with the points they’ve accumulated.
Turn ASR points into KrisFlyer miles
For those who fly with Singapore Airlines, there’s a useful perk to start with: ASR points can now be converted directly into KrisFlyer miles, at a rate of 20 ASR points to one KrisFlyer mile.
You’ll need at least 5,000 ASR points to make a conversion, with a maximum of 50,000 ASR points convertible per membership account each calendar year. That sits alongside an existing perk: 500 KrisFlyer miles on qualifying direct bookings made through DiscoverASR.com or the ASR app.
Better still, qualifying stays can earn both ASR points and KrisFlyer miles from the same booking, so you can build up rewards for your hotel stays and future flights at the same time.
Put your points towards flights
Rather spend your points beyond the hotel? You can do that, too.
ASR members can redeem points for $50, $100 or $200 flight credits that can be used across more than 640 airlines through DiscoverASR.com, thanks to its partnership with Trip.com.
The options continue once you arrive. Members can also earn points when booking tours and experiences through DiscoverASR.com, then put their accumulated points towards:
- Chelsea Football Club matchday experiences
- Selected ASR Local Signatures events
- Sporting and lifestyle experiences
- Tours and attraction tickets
From helping with the journey there to giving you something to look forward to when you arrive, ASR points can now go considerably further than another hotel booking.
Earn points when you’re planning for others
And the earning potential isn’t limited to your own travels. Meeting organisers and corporate bookers can earn rewards through the refreshed ASR Meeting Planner programme, which awards two ASR points for every dollar spent on rooms and events.
Those points come alongside privileges including membership upgrades, discounts, vouchers and bonus points. Ascott’s apartment-style accommodation and flexible event spaces can cater to short corporate offsites, long-stay project teams, product launches and celebrations.
Groups looking to make more of the occasion can also arrange tailored dining experiences, with Ascott working with selected caterers and speciality chefs on bespoke menus, live cooking stations and locally inspired tasting experiences.
And yes, there are still plenty of hotel perks
ASR hasn’t forgotten what most people joined a hotel loyalty programme for in the first place. Points earned from stays can be redeemed for complimentary nights at participating properties across 30 countries.
Some of its newer stay benefits have been rolling out throughout the year. In March 2026, ASR piloted complimentary preview stays at the newly opened Oakwood Cameron Highlands, giving eligible Gold and Platinum members early access during the property’s first month.
Then came ASR’s seventh anniversary celebrations. Earlier this year, its Fast Track to Free Nights campaign rewarded members who completed at least six qualifying nights at participating properties with a complimentary night, with up to two free nights available during the promotion.
And there’s more to come.
Following the Oakwood Cameron Highlands pilot, complimentary preview stays are set to extend to upcoming openings including lyf Chinatown Singapore and Citadines Elizabeth Street Hobart – giving eligible Gold and Platinum members more chances to be among the first through the door.
Beyond these roll-outs and limited-time campaigns, members can continue to enjoy a range of benefits depending on their tier and destination:
- Complimentary breakfast: Platinum members receive free breakfast at Ascott properties in Europe, with China and Japan set to follow.
- A welcome treat in your room: Locally curated gifts vary by membership tier and destination, from artisan confectionery in Europe to seasonal tropical produce in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
- 20% off dining: All ASR members enjoy 20% off buffet and à la carte menus at participating properties across Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.
For members, that means more to look forward to at check-in, even as their points take them well beyond it.
