Hong Kong’s striking, minimalist architecture is the perfect playground for this season’s modern fashion
Modern cool at Tuve Hotel
Tucked away in Tin Hau, near the hubbub of retail haven Causeway Bay, the unassuming (there’s no signage) Tuve Hotel was named after a series of photographs of a dreamy Swedish lake by Danish photographer Kim Høltermand. Fittingly, there are lots of design nods to the artwork’s misty, wintry landscape and rock formations: communal areas are finished in stone, marble and brass while the 66 minimalist rooms feature rough, grainy concrete and wood as well as moody, low lighting. This edgy hotel doesn’t sacrifice comfort for style though: rooms are palatial by Hong Kong standards, sporting cloud-soft beds draped in fine linen and vast, white marble bathrooms.
