The new PokéPark Kanto gives families and Pokémon trainers of all ages more reason to visit the Japanese capital
Step into a world where you’ll discover in-situ battles and critters scampering around various locations, just like you would in the popular Japanese video game franchise, Pokémon. Nintendo’s iconic multi-billion-dollar franchise is known for its record-breaking game sales and headline-making trading card auctions.
Newly opened in February 2026, PokéPark Kanto grows Japan’s perennial allure, drawing superfans and anyone keen to meet these pocket monsters in the flesh.
This family-friendly attraction brings the Pokémon experience to life within an immersive 26,000sqm environment in Yomiuriland, an outdoor amusement park that borders Tokyo and Kawasaki. The park opening also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Pokémon.
Discover over 600 Pokémon as you explore the park, which fleshes out the engaging storytelling the beloved series is known for. Explore a forest trail filled with Pokémon characters, hand Nurse Joy and Chansey Poké Balls to have your party nursed to full health at the Pokémon Centre, and pick up refreshing beverages at Poké Mart.
Pokémon GO game players will also be thrilled to discover virtual Pokémon reflecting the critters they meet in the PokéPark, bringing a real-world touch to the in-game hunt.
Ticket prices range from¥5,000 ($41) to¥15,000 ($122) and are sold two months in advance; selected areas may require limited-access tickets given out in a lottery or on a first-come, first-served basis.
