Light, refreshing and tropical, Batik Flora by Singapore Airlines uses six flowers found in its iconic batik motif and is available in two products
As part of its ongoing efforts to provide a unique sensory experience to its passengers, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has introduced a signature scent that is light, refreshing and tropical, using flowers that are native to Singapore and seen in SIA’s batik motif.
Named “Batik Flora by Singapore Airlines”, the scent is designed to remind passengers of the familiar warm welcome they receive in every SIA journey.
Created in collaboration with Scent by SIX, a Singapore-based artisanal perfume label, the scent is “reflective of our beautiful garden city…a scent of home and what we hold close to our hearts,” says Scent by SIX founder Jason Lee.
Characterized by floral notes from the Aquatic Ginger, Common Dianella, Seashore Purslane, Simpoh Lak, Utania Nervosa and White Kopsia, Batik Flora was first introduced at the airline’s Service Centre in ION Orchard in October 2021.
It will be progressively introduced in other customer-facing SIA locations, including the redeveloped SilverKris Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 when it reopens.
“Singapore Airlines has always been committed to delivering a differentiated, meaningful and contextual experience for our customers. So, we thought, perhaps we can reinforce the overall experience by appealing to the five senses across the various stages of the customer journey,” says SIA Senior Vice President Customer Experience Yeoh Phee Teik.
Batik Flora can now be purchased as a reed diffuser and as an eau de toilette spray perfume exclusively on KrisShop.com, SIA’s flagship retailer.
Each packaging is beautifully engraved with the iconic SIA batik motif
In April 2021, the airline launched the Sound of Singapore Airlines, a batik-inspired sonic branding comprising of three instrumental tracks played throughout the customer’s journey, from the SilverKris lounges to the flight cabins. These initiatives are part of SIA’s efforts to engage its customers’ senses for a truly elevated experience.
