Jetting off on vacation? Here are some tips to keep the little ones well-cared for throughout their journey

With the school holidays upon us, it’s the perfect time for families to travel, unwind and share meaningful moments away from the everyday routine.

Flying with young children, however, can be challenging – from keeping them entertained on long flights to making sure they have meals they enjoy.

Singapore Airlines offers a host of thoughtful services designed to make every stage of the journey smoother for both parents and little ones.

At the airport

Premium travellers can unwind at the SilverKris Lounge in Changi Airport Terminals 2 and 3.

The refreshed First and Business Class lounges at Terminal 2 include family-friendly touches such as playrooms with a playful Beary themed wall and activity boards to keep little ones engaged, as well as a nursing room with a baby-changing station.

Parents can take a moment to freshen up in the en-suite shower rooms, stocked with Lalique and Payot amenities, or unwind in dedicated rest areas – available at both Terminals 2 and 3 – for a calm respite from the bustle of the airport.

To help parents plan a smoother travel journey, this checklist is a must-have. It highlights pre-flight tips, packing suggestions, and key considerations when travelling with small children or infants, making preparations easier.

In-flight fun for kids

Keeping children engaged in the air is simpler with Sky Quests, a set of interactive mini-games designed for young travellers. Kids can test their knowledge with Travel Trivia, sharpen their memory with Memory Match or play Charades Chase with their family, along with other exciting games. Simply connect to in-flight Wi-Fi and visit krisworld.com to start playing during your flight!

Families can also embark on a cinematic adventure with a curated selection of family-friendly movies and TV shows – best enjoyed together on the seatback system – including titles such as Zootopia 2, A Minecraft Movie and The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.

Disney branded children’s amenities are available for young travellers aged 12 years and under.

Kid-friendly meal options

Onboard dining is thoughtfully designed with little ones in mind, with selected routes offering specially curated child friendly options. Children can enjoy a choice of Western, Asian, or vegetarian meals, while infants and babies are served age-appropriate soft foods for easy digestion. To ensure availability, remember to pre-order these meals at least 32 hours before departure.

Six tips to make travelling with children a breeze

  • Book your tickets: Each infant must travel with an accompanying adult on the same booking and miles should be claimed separately.
  • Manage your booking: Use this feature on the SIA website to select seats, preorder infant meals at least 32 hours before departure, and more.
  • Prepare for your trip: Don’t forget to check entry requirements and liquid regulations before you board – breast milk is allowed in carry-on bags.
  • Head to the airport: Arrive early! If you need help with stroller check-in or boarding, simply approach ground staff at check-in or the gate.
  • On board: Nursing and expressing milk are permitted during the flight, and selected lavatories are equipped with baby changing tables.
  • On arrival: Remember to collect all your belongings and look out for family-designated immigration lanes where available.

From the airport to the cabin, Singapore Airlines offers a range of family friendly comforts to make travelling with kids a seamless and enjoyable experience. Click here to find out more.
