Along a pebbled street in Limehouse sits this much-loved pub, which has been serving up delicious ales for over 500 years. The current structure – with its traditional Victorian long bar and wood panelling – dates back to the 1800s and narrowly escaped being bombed during the Blitz in WWII. Fun fact: the pub is co-owned by Sir Ian McKellen, which is why you’ll spot Gandalf’s staff hanging behind the bar.
