Named after the Malaccan Creole Kristang word for “little one”, this contemporary Asian restaurant is ensconced within luxury hotel Artyzen Singapore. The stylish space, lush with greenery and accented with a dramatic vaulted ceiling, is the setting for a vibrant degustation menu. Crafted by Chef de Cuisine Sujatha Asokan and consultant chef Victor Liong, it’s an artful exploration of lesser-known ingredients and Southeast Asian culinary techniques.
The seasonal amuse-bouche offers a tantalising taste of jungle garlic, prized for its truffle-like aroma, in an Indonesian mud crab tartlet topped with caviar. And the odiferous petai, or bitter bean, adds an unexpectedly delicate funk to the marron, an Australian freshwater crayfish. The fine dining restaurant also hosts regular wine pairing dinners, curated by experts such as Master Sommelier Mathias Camilleri, so keep an eye on their socials if you don’t want to miss the next one.
