For a taste of Filipino comfort food, head down to Mary Grace’s first international outpost on Tras Street and order an ensaymada ($5.50).
The soft brioche topped with aged Edam cheese – sweet, savoury and pillowy – holds a special place in every Filipino’s heart. Also a favourite? The rich Cheese Rolls ($4.30), traditionally paired with the Mary Grace Hot Chocolate ($7.50).
But fans of the brand will also discover new flavours here, like the Singapore-exclusive Salted Egg Ensaymada ($6.50) and Kaya Pandan Cheese Roll ($5.30).
Savoury classics like the nostalgic Angus Beef Tapa ($25.50), served with garlic or rosemary rice and eggs, make for a hearty brunch. Pair it with the Ube Coconut Cloud ($10), a refreshing concoction of ube foam, coconut water and toasted coconut flakes.
The cafe, personally decorated by founder Mary Grace Dimacali, is cheerful and welcoming, and features a collaborative mural by Filipino artist Amanda Lapus Santos and Singaporean artist Eunice Hannah Lim.
Prices range from $4 for Babyccino to $27 for Crab Cake Brioche.
