Emerging from the luxury hotel’s extensive revamp, the former Astor Bar is entering a new mixology era. Led by Head Bartender Kelvin Saquilayan, the gilded salon of aged brass, dark Tundra grey marble and plush suede sets the stage for the next chapter. Cocktails, like the sparkling Disco-Tea-Que – vodka, lapsang souchang, apricot, cassis and Champagne – draw inspiration from the defining decades of drink culture. Manhattan lovers might appreciate the Midnight Orchard, which nods to the roaring Jazz Age. Of course, the St. Regis signatures remain. The Straits Mary, Singapore’s take on the classic Bloody Mary, is a smoky blend of bak kwa-infused bourbon, chilli padi and gochujang.
