Once defined by 1960s New York swagger, the nightlife institution returns in a new guise, embracing Shanghainese sophistication at a new address.
Evoking Jazz Age glamour with velvet-lined banquettes, jade hues and a baby grand piano, the space swings between intimate lounge and late-night playground. Cocktails, crafted in collaboration with Studio Ryecroft (Bar Kap), are accented with Chinese ingredients like osmanthus wine, baijiu and Buddha’s hand.
The food menu is designed for grazing, with dim sum and small plates like Oscietra Caviar Siu Mai ($26++) and Crispy Aromatic Duck Pancakes ($26++) . Every night promises to be different, with a rotating programme of live music, cabaret, burlesque and drag shows across the week.
Prices range from $24 to $60+ per person.
