Sequestered just above the lively Club Street, the intimate 14-seater signals a new phase for the acclaimed bar maverick. Following the philosophy of ‘keep it simple stupid’, the cocktails are uncomplicated in both style and execution. Start off nice and easy with a highball; the Rockmelon Fizz balances out vodka, cherry kirsch and sherry with a lovely housemade rockmelon soda. For something more potent, move to ‘Strong & Stirred’ on the next page – the Wizzbang (white rum, spiced watermelon ‘liqueere’, absinthe) really does hit the spot. Getting the munchies? There are a few quick-to-assemble bites on offer. Try the cheesy baked tuna, a rich, moreish dip-style snack served with toasted sourdough.
