Penang House of Music

Music may not be the first thing that comes to mind for travellers to Penang, but it does have a rich tradition here. Fans of this pastime can learn more in this music-centric community museum on the third storey of Penang’s tallest skyscraper, the iconic Komtar. You’ll find exhibits commemorating diverse local music traditions, including the Potehi glove puppet theatre and dondang sayang (a lighthearted, traditional Malay poetic singing). There are even radio and cinema rooms that offer the experience of music and movies back in the day.
