Founded by Austrian chefs Stephan Zoisl and Lorenz Raich, the hip Stanley Street diner takes inspiration from one of Europe’s most diverse cities. From the iconic currywurst to the popular döner kebab, each dish is a hearty yet refined rendition of Berliner classics. Start with a refreshing salad of watermelon and cherry tomatoes, enlivened with onions, basil and mint. The simit bread, sometimes known as Turkish bagel, will make any carb lover happy, but its accompanying spicy tomato dip makes it a must-order. When it comes to street food, it’s nigh impossible to top a mouthwatering kebab. You won’t go wrong with the 1972 Berlin Original, which is stuffed with succulent spit-roasted chicken, lettuce, tomato, then finished with a moreish garlic yogurt dressing. The casual 40-seater takes design cues from the city’s U-Bahn stations, creating a transportative space to enjoy a pint of pale ale from Kreuzberg-based craft brewery BRLO.
