The Red October Chocolate Factory on Bolotny Island was once the city’s most beloved sweet manufacturer, keeping dentists in business throughout the Cold War. Production moved out more than a decade ago, but the building has been repurposed into Red October Gallery, which boasts art spaces and a heady mix of restaurants and clubs.
