Three pedestrian bridges offering fresh points of view

1. Stressed Ribbon Bridge, Penang

Rising above Penang, the Langur Way Canopy Walk is the longest and highest two-span stressed ribbon bridge in the world. Part of eco-tourism site The Habitat Penang Hill, the 230m-long bridge opened in January this year and offers a bird’s-eye view of local wildlife.

2. Cau Vang Bridge, Danang

Opened in June, this extraordinary-looking structure has already set social media alight. Suspended 1,412m above sea level, giant hands cradle the sweeping 150m structure, which offers breathtaking views over the Truong Son Mountains and the city of Danang.

3. Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, Hunan Province

It may no longer be the longest, but at 300m above the ground, this still holds the record of the tallest glass-bottom bridge in the world. It’s found within the striking Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China’s first ever national park, five hours’ drive from Changsha.
