The airline recently launched new inflight products and merchandise showcasing artwork by differently abled artists
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has collaborated with SG Enable and the Autism Resource Centre (ARC) to showcase designs by artists with special needs on SIA’s inflight products, starting with snack boxes that were launched recently.
This partnership is the first initiative of SG Enable’s “i’mable” campaign, which aims to create a marketplace for curated goods and products by persons with special needs. These snack boxes – which are served to passengers and contain refreshments such as sandwiches and wraps – will feature artwork by artists with autism from the Artist Development Programme (ADP), a Pathlight School initiative that is a programme under ARC.
The first artwork used on inflight snack boxes features Local Food by Aaron Yap, with illustrations of local dishes such as claypot rice and satay (grilled meat skewers).
This inaugural partnership of SIA, SG Enable and ARC emphasises the core values of SIA to promote the inclusion of persons with special needs into society.
In line with this partnership, SIA’s retail arm, KrisShop, has launched KrisShop Cares on KrisShop.com – a platform featuring curated and exclusive products from partner communities. Full net proceeds from sales of these items will go to the respective partners. ARC is SIA’s first partner on board KrisShop Cares.
Merchandise exclusively available on KrisShop Cares includes a scented candle box set with ink illustrations of Singapore’s national icon, the Merlion, by Gavin James Rodriguez. This unique merchandise is a perfect souvenir representing Singapore, while supporting differently abled artists like Gavin.
